GamePay

Executive Summary

PayOGFE℠ started in 2003 with the vision of using the internet to provide a cost-effective way to manage the process of paying game officials. PARTNET, with its expertise in internet e-Commerce, helped them achieve their vision with the creation of the GamePaySM application.

GamePaySM tracked everything required to pay officials and other independent contractors who were working sporting events. Understandably, a lot of game officials worked part-time and were burdened with a large travel requirement. GamePaySM kept tabs on when and where officials worked, all in a secure, online environment. The software kept accurate records and allowed Conferences to calculate payments as well as pay taxes. Users could review payment history through a reporting function and could view the status of events and payments from anywhere.

Challenges

PayOGFE (Pay – Officiating Game Fees and Expenses) was a company in Texas that was looking for a more efficient way to perform its main mission of scheduling and paying referees and others for officiating at college sports events. They commissioned PARTNET to help design, build, and run a system that would allow them to automate and optimize most of the tasks associated with scheduling and paying these officials. PARTNET was the perfect choice because of the innovative and efficient development culture that exists at PARTNET.

How GamePaySM Helped

These days and even back in 2003, businesses need the capability to do more with less, and security is of the utmost concern. PARTNET aided in that goal by designing ways to increase automation of daily and weekly tasks, and to implement these designs in the most efficient and affordable manner. The GamePay project for PayOGFE is a perfect example of that capability.

PARTNET built a system that was inexpensive yet functional, easy to use, and completely secure – way ahead of its time. This simple interface enabled staff to learn the system quickly and increases the profitability of PayOGFE. Used by sports officials all over the country, GamePaySM needed to be reliable and provide sufficient capacity to accommodate all PayOGFE-supported NCAA sporting events.

PARTNET worked closely with PayOGFE to design a system that would satisfy those requirements, and then implemented it quickly and efficiently. Part of that implementation plan included time for PayOGFE personnel to review prototypes and early versions to make sure that the selected vision matched their needs. This gave the PayOGFE staff plenty of time to make course corrections without adding substantial cost. GamePaySM was the first to implement processing procedures, which we feel makes your money 100% safe and risk-free.

Results, Return on Investment, and Future Plans

GamePaySM ran at a 99.99% uptime—while handling thousands of games and tens of thousands of transactions a year in a safe and secure manner. PARTNET received high marks from PayOGFE on its work.
